Con Flu 2015

So as expected, I caught a touch of con flu from Mikey. I'm not particularly stuffy, but I have a small cough that is really deep in my chest and I have fatigue and muscle aches. I would get some stuff done but I cannot breath well. I need to focus on work and do some let's plays. My computer seems to work now for some odd reason. I have to work on that too. Just thinking about all of this makes me a bit dizzy. I'll work on all of that stuff starting Monday.

The Superbowl is tomorrow but the teams are always in the Superbowl and I don't care about either of them. I would rather the Patriots not win because I have not met many Patriot fans that I like. In fact, most of the ones I can think of are ones that could vanish off the face of the Earth and the world would be a better place. But those are just the ones I know of. I could be wrong and some of my greatest friends could be fans. In that case, they should know better ;).

If I am still sick by Monday and cannot speak through a Let's Play, I will have to find something small that I can record and I do not have to talk through. I haven't a clue what that could be. I want to buy The Escapists and Stranded Deep to play. They look like so much fun and games that I would be into playing. Let's Players have done them recently.

While at MAGfest, I learned that a lot of people have more online support and love than YouTube personalities. They post that they don't feel good on Facebook and they get dozens of comments asking them to feel better. I do the same and I get a select few asking me if I am okay. I love those who support me but I wonder why I do not get the same response. Others get pissed that they do not get support online and then get all the support in the world. What the hell are they complaining about? This sort of stuff also makes me wonder if I have become the creepy girl no one wants around. At least that is what people treat me like unless they want something.  I sound bitter and at times, I am. I want to be friendly and professional but it never works. Others get to be unprofessional and off-putting with no consequence. I guess that is just life.

MAGfest XIII 2015

Completely forgot to post something before we left for MAGfest. I ran into a bunch of snags beforehand (like my computer dying) and I was cutting everything close when it came to deadlines.

My brother Eric and his girlfriend Crystal had a blast and got a LOT of attention with their costumes. That was really important to me this year. MAGfest is what we save up for and is our vacation. I was glad that I could share that with them.

We ran into ProJared and noticing how skinny he was, I just had to squat lift him. It is a sign of affection, honest.

Mikey and I were just talking about having never seen someone cosplay at Recette. And here she is with her dolla's!

A Cards Against Humanity haiku. We played a lot of this game. I hope it does not get tiring after awhile. I might have to put it aside for now and play it again in a few months so I can forget all the questions and answers.

The Hot Pepper Gaming Crew were taking photos after their LIVE show.

I know someone who went to the Game Grumps panel

Shovel Knight

I love when someone comes to a convention as Kora or Katara. So pretty!

So, that's about it guys. Mikey came down with a case of con flu, so I am taking care of him today while trying to get my other work done.

Road to MAGfest 2015- January 12, 2015

So, here's the full costume aside from the mole being on the wrong side. I have trouble switching perspectives:

Cleaning House

There are less than two weeks before MAGfest. I have not lost any weight and I do not know how to feel about that. I kept up with work and my house is cleaner than it ever has been before, much to Khaleesi's approval.

We got a new washer and dryer as a gift and while the Home Depot guys brought it in and delivered it and while Mikey and his father installed everything, I swept up the downstairs, put Khaleesi's toys away, got on my hands and knees, and scrubbed the floor with a rag and a vinegar solution.

A Swiffer was not going to get up the years worth of grime on our floor. I will go over it with the WetJet I have yet to open in time but for now it is clean.

The kitchen has stayed clean for a full week now too! That is what I have been working hard at, making it routine for me to put my dirty dishes in the dishwasher, unload the dishwasher, and wash my dishes when I dirty them, clean off the counters, and wipe up whatever messes I make.

These are things people learn when they are little but I had trouble learning. It has to be a habit for me to keep it up even when I am stressed. I try to feel proud of myself for doing it although it can be a hassle. I also try to remember to do it when I am downstairs like when I am letting the dogs out or making dinner.

The upstairs still needs a lot of work. The cats are still going in that closet and since we are not done cleaning it, the litterbox is on the floor and the dogs get into it. That has to become a priority, later. For now, I must think "green peppers".

Road to MAGfest 2015- January 9th, 2015

The last piece of my costume came in last week, the gakuran. It is a military style jacket that male high school students wear as a uniform. It was custom made for me. The sleeves seem a bit short when I move but they sit right when my hands are at my sides. It came earlier than I thought it would. I think they were able to ship it faster than expected. I will put on the entire costume to take a picture for the blog.

If you have not noticed, I went from posting a bunch of Let's Play videos at once (as many as I recorded at once) to posting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Right now, we are doing different badges of Monster Loves You, Cthulu Saves the World, and I am going to be redoing Theme Hospital level by level when Mikey cannot LP with me.

Why so many LPs at once? Well, sometimes we want to do a quick LP in one session, other times we have the time and energy to work on a larger LP, and sometimes Mikey does not want to LP or we do not have time to do it together, so I have to have one to do myself.

I hope you will watch the LPs and like, comment, subscribe, or whatever you want to do. It's a hobby.

The Bondage of Markiplier

Mark awoke in an upright position, his body incredibly stiff. He tried using his arms and legs but they would not budge from their splayed positions. Am I tied up, he thought to himself. Panic was beginning to crawl through his nerves. When he tried to turn his head to look at his binds, he found that he could not move his neck. He could only move his eyes. They revealed nothing but darkness but he could not feel a blindfold on his face. What is going on? He could hardly hear himself think over his own heartbeat and hard breathing. Possibilities swam through his head like hundreds of guppies in a glass tank.

Concentrate, Mark.

Whatever he was tied to, it was spongy and soft. Maybe if he pulled hard enough, he could break free. With every muscle, he pulled himself forward. There was a spongy  surface in front of him too but it was giving way through the force. The slab in front of him fell over, as did he. A flash of blue and tan against a white background caught his eyes before he slammed into the wood floor below him. He could no longer feel the spongy surface on his back yet his arms, legs, and neck were still stiff. However he found that he could wriggle enough to go forward. He had in fact been on a wooden riser and was crawling face-down onto the wooden floor about six inches beneath it. It would really hurt to get splinters in my face.

His left foot touched something sharp before it came off the riser. It nearly cut him. If I can turn myself around and angle myself properly, I might be able to cut my bonds on whatever my foot touched!

It seemed like hours had passed before Mark had reached the edge of the riser again although it had always been right next to him. It was so hard to move. Swinging his left side over the riser, he pulled his other side up. Success.

Below him lay a large metal blade with a wide handle. It's a sword! No wait, it's a giant knife? He stared at his reflection in the stainless steel. He had not been tied up at all. His disposition was much worse. He only had a moment to take in his square, whole-wheat reality before he was overtaken by the sudden and uncontrollable urge to become toast.

Canalave Calamity

Despite the Pokemon gym across the bridge, Canalave City was a peaceful port. Residents were used to trainers coming in to challenge Byron and gain their mine badge. Their presence was a huge boost to the city's economy since they would stock up on potions at the pokemart. Eldritch took them to the islands via his ferry. He used to love sailing with young trainers and hearing of their victories but he has not been the same since his son got sick. Maybe one of those trainers will come back with something that will help both his son and Eldritch's depression.

It was on a day like any other when all the commotion happened. Dawn pulled the Barry through the streets by his hair, beating his face against houses and the steel bars holding up the bridge. They went into the pokecenter where Dawn proceeded to beat Barry's face on the counter several times. There was a look of horror on the face of the nurse on duty that day.

Dawn pulled out her pokeballs and made Barry apologize to each one of them before handing them to the nurse to heal. After he apologized, she banged his head on the counter. By now, he had a black eye and his nose must have been broken. Then she went over to the computer, logged in, took out her poison barb, and beat him with it.

The pokemart could not have anticipated the couple barging in a few minutes later. Barry could barely walk and his nose was dripping blood. They went to the far back wall to the display cases where she banged his face against the glass, leaving a smear of blood on the panes. They made a mess when she slid his face over the shelves in the middle of the store and knocked everything onto the floor. The ladies behind the counter were too frightened to yell at them. After bashing Barry's head against their counter like she had in the pokecenter, she looked up at the ladies and smiled.

"Hi," she squealed with the voice of a demon child. "He'll take three revives and 15 super potions." Then she plucked his wallet out from his pocket, slammed his head against the counter for good measure, and paid the ladies. They did not ask questions and handed the merchandise over to Dawn. "Thank you!" she squealed again as she put all of it in her satchel and dragged Barry back outside.

She finally let go of him in front of the bridge but began kicking him and shouting. "I looked all over for you at Hearthome with the pokemon I used to beat Fantina, but you were nowhere to be found. So I grabbed my lower level pokemon to share experience with my higher levels as we traveled here. I go across the bridge to see what kind of pokemon I need to beat Byron, and that's when you show up? When I have lower level pokemon an am in a new town? I still beat your ass but not without having to revive my best pokemon several times! Do you know how long it is going to take for me to gain back a good reputation with those creatures? How many times I am going to have to go back to Veilstone to get them massages? I can only get one a day! Go... fuck... yourself!" Each word was followed by a kick to the stomach. By this time, Barry might have been unconscious from the pain. No one saw him moving. They only heard groans.

Finished, Dawn spit on him, took his gym badge, and threw it into the canal before going to the gym to continue her business.
